DLT:
Students will be able to create a video and submit it in Jupiter by uploading to Google Drive and sharing the link.
Warm Up:
What are some things you enjoy doing in your free time?
Why do you think it’s important to share your interests with others?
Have you ever created a video before? What did you learn from that experience?
Key Vocabulary:
Introductory (adj.): Serving to introduce; preliminary.
Filming (v.): The act of capturing moving images on a camera.
Production (n.): The process of creating a video, including planning, filming, and editing.
Activity:
- Create Your Introductory Video! Due before next class
In this video, you'll introduce yourself to your classmates! Start by sharing one reason you want to be in this class. Then, share three interesting facts about yourself. For example, you could talk about a hobby, a favorite book, or a unique experience you've had. Make sure to show off your video production skills by using interesting angles, clear audio, and engaging visuals. Keep your video between 30 to 45 seconds long. You can just use the camera and record a single video for this assignment. If you know how to use any video production apps you are welcome to use them. We will be introducing video production apps and techniques in the class for future projects.
Once your video is complete:
- upload it to Google Drive
- change your share permissions to Sweetwater Union High School District
- copy the share link
- go to the assignment in Jupiter
- click the "turn in" button
- select "new link" from the menu and paste in your link
- submit
Before submitting, review your work:
What reason did you give for wanting to be in this class?
What interesting facts did you share about yourself?
Did you apply any video production, editing or planning techniques to enhance your video if you know any?
