Creating Your iMovie Video Assignment:

Objective: Create a video that is at least 60 seconds long, showcasing the 11 skills you learned.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Review Your Storyboard:
    • Look at the storyboard you created.
    • Identify the key scenes or skills you want to include in your video.
  2. Gather Your Materials:
    • Collect all the videos and images you plan to use.
    • Make sure you have the necessary files saved on your device.
  3. Open iMovie:
    • Launch the iMovie application on your device.
    • Create a new project by clicking on "Create New" and selecting "Movie."
  4. Import Your Videos and Images:
    • Click on the "Import Media" button.
    • Select the videos and images you gathered earlier and import them into iMovie.
  5. Arrange Your Clips:
    • Drag and drop your video clips and images onto the timeline in the order you want them to appear.
    • Ensure that your clips flow smoothly from one to the next.
  6. Trim Your Clips:
    • Click on any clip you want to edit.
    • Use the trimming tool to cut out any unnecessary parts, like dead air or mistakes.
    • Make sure each clip contributes to your video.
  7. Split Clips:
    • If you need to separate a clip, click on it in the timeline.
    • Move the playhead to where you want to split the clip, then right-click and select "Split Clip."
  8. Add Titles:
    • Click on the "Titles" tab.
    • Choose a title style and drag it to the timeline where you want it to appear.
    • Type in your text and adjust the duration as needed.
  9. Adjust Volume Levels:
    • Click on any video clip with audio.
    • Use the volume adjustment tools to increase or decrease the sound as needed to ensure clarity.
  10. Preview Your Video:
    • Click the play button to watch your video.
    • Check if everything looks good and flows well.
  11. Make Final Edits:
    • Go back and make any final adjustments to clips, volume, transitions, or titles.
    • Ensure your video is polished and meets the 60-second requirement.
  12. Export Your Video:
    • Once you are satisfied, click on the "File" menu and select "Share."
    • Choose "File" to export your video.
    • Follow the prompts to save your final product.
